FORESTRY TOOL KITS: Lending Policies

USE & CARE: 

All contents borrowed as a part of the tool kit are the property of the North Central Ohio Women Owning Woodlands Chapter (NCOH-WOW). All items should be returned in the same condition as at the time of check-out. Sharpening and cleaning supplies are included with the kit, and every effort should be made to return the tools sharp, clean, and dry so they are ready for the next Borrower. 

SAFTEY & LIABILITY

Not all physical activity is suitable for everyone, and the use of the tools included in the tool kits may result in injury. Please always consult your doctor before using these tools, or any others suggested in associated documents, especially if you have any chronic or recurring condition, and/or if you are pregnant, nursing, or elderly. 

By reserving a tool kit and signing the form upon pick-up, you acknowledge: 

• that the use of the tools included in the tool kits can carry certain inherent risks including the risk of personal injury, accident or illness, death, or property damage and further acknowledge that these inherent risks cannot be eliminated even in the exercise of due care.

• that you assume responsibility for all risks of injury from using any of the tools included in the tool kit and that Holden Forests & Gardens, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, Holmes Soil & Water Conservation District, Richland Soil & Water Conservation District, Geauga Soil & Water Conservation District, and the Ohio Forestry Association are NOT responsible nor liable for any injury or loss you may sustain by utilizing these tool kits

• that you are the responsible party should harm occur to anyone using the tools included in the lent tool kit. 

• that your participation in this program is voluntary and that you knowingly assume all such risks. 

DEPOSITS: 

We require a $50, fully refundable deposit when borrowing a tool kit. The tools included in these kits are valuable and intended to be used by many people! By requiring a deposit, we ensure that tools lost or damaged while on loan can be replaced or repaired. It also helps us ensure that tools are returned on time for the next borrower.

Deposit Payment & Refund: The deposit will be paid when the tool kit is reserved. The payment will be made to Holden Forests & Gardens. The deposit will be refunded within one week of the reservation start date if the tool kit is not picked up, or within one week of the return date, barring any damaged or missing tools. If the tool kit is returned with damaged or missing tools, the deposit will be used for replacement/repair and any remaining funds will be refunded. 

Late Return Policy: If the tool kit is returned after the agreed-upon return date, the Borrower will pay a late fee of $10 per day late. This will be deducted from the refundable deposit. Everyone’s time is valuable, and setting aside time for a big project requires careful planning. This late fee system helps us keep everything on track for everyone. 

Dirty/Damaged Return Policy: If the tool kit is returned with dirty or damaged tool(s), the deposit, up to the repair/replacement value of the tool(s), is forfeited. 

Missing Tool Policy: If the tool kit is returned with tools missing, the deposit, up to the replacement value of the tool(s), is forfeited. A grace period of two business days will be offered within which tools can be returned to avoid paying the full cost of replacement. However, the Late Return Policy will go into effect. If at the end of the grace period, the tool(s) have not been returned, the deposit, up to the replacement value of the tool(s), is forfeited.
