BACKGROUND
In late 2025, the North-Central Ohio Women Owning Woodlands (NCOH-WOW) Chapter was awarded a generous grant by the Ohio Forestry Association to create three lending tool kits to assist community members with woodland management projects. In collaboration with local Soil & Water Conservation Districts, the tool kits assembled and maintained by NCOH-WOW became available for reservation in September 2026.
WHAT IS A TOOL KIT?
Each toolkit contains ergonomically designed hand tools available for anyone to borrow! These tools are specifically helpful for projects like:
mechanical removal of small trees and shrubs as well as herbaceous plants (including non-native invasives)
preparation for and execution of small-scale plantings
pruning of specific trees
trail maintenance
hand tool sharpening
